ORGANIZED BY: SABAI TRAINING NGO
WHEN? 1st DECEMBER, 2018 (ARRIVAL DAY) 8th DECEMBER, 2018 (DEPARTURE DAY)
WHERE? Alsotold, Hungary
The Training Course (TC) “Creating Peace through Leadership” are among the 24 participants that take part in the training. There are 2 participants per country from Hungary, Italy, UK, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Turkey, Austria, Slovakia, Romania and Greece. Erasmus+ has great opportunities for young people all over Europe, which means it is open for different youth associations to organize various international projects, especially YE. All young people who are or become involved in the Erasmus+ programme develop their skills as perfect future youth leaders. TC is based on the belief that group leaders of youth are able to increase the quality of Erasmus+ youth exchanges by finding appropriate models to motivate youth to actively participate in the youth exchange and thus gain new skills and knowledge. The main idea is to find this form of motivation where the group leader is not a teacher or superior but instead plays an active role of a facilitator who knows how to successfully involve and motivate youngsters. Following this model, the people assisting youngsters during international projects are helping, step by step, to also achieve the aims of the European Union and its values.
How will we do it?
CULTURE OF MINDFULNESS
This is NOT a regular TC. It is a platform for personal development with many mindfulness methods, leadership approach, meditations and deep connection with yourself and others.
To achieve best results, we encourage to make sure you are into the topic and you are ready to spend a week in peaceful surroundings, with no parties, no intoxicants, totally emerging into yourself and learning. Are you? ☺
The official language will be English only.
THE CONTENT AND ACTIVITIES
TC „Create Peace through Leadership”is based on the fact, that group leaders from different NGOs should be able to increase the quality of YE through finding appropriate models of motivating young people to actively participate in the activities and to gain new skills with knowledge.
The main idea is through the laboratory to find the form of motivating, where leader is not a teacher or mentor, where leader plays a role of a facilitator who knows methods of youth involvement, mostly mindful methods.
TC will introduce the idea of mindful leadership, will give the tools that enable young people to become more aware of their actions, choices, decisions and its impact as well as to improve social skills and interpersonal communication.
The aim of the project is to improve quality of Youth Exchanges (in frames of Erasmus +) by providing space for Youth Exchange group leaders to develop their competences, focusing on inner peace, motivation and learning support.
The main target group for a TC are youth workers, people in some way involved in direct work with young people, believing that current methods lack a new approach of mindfulness and holistic education.
The project has a clear and effective impact on the partner organizations who involved in the project. The participating network of organizations has the aim to develop skills and knowledge of participants from different countries, open their mind and give them a chance to discuss issues that really affect them and their youth work. Since the group leaders are prepared to work within an international environment it is also important to give them an international environment to apply their skills. Therefore, project seeks to not only improve the qualities of future YE but also has the aim to provide a platform for facilitating cooperation between organizations and their networks. Therefore, we clearly believe that the participants of this training course will later create YE of a better quality under the Erasmus+ program.
